Should i motor swap or build the stock motor

(1999 Chevrolet S10)
Im wanting know what would be best to motor swap the 2.2l for something bigger or just build it and turbo it or supercharge it .wanting to be street legal but also capable of making a fast pass at the track

Would be beyond reasonable expenditure to do either one!!

.Got to consider control module incompatibility - modified wiring requirements - emissions control..
Plus a bunch of additional issues that will certainly come up during the process.

You’d be money ahead to buy a vehicle that better suited your wants as it is.
