The passenger frontal air bag assembly is deployed by an inflator which contains propellant that makes the air bag deploy. This propellant may degrade over time, especially when exposed to humidity and temperature cycling. As a result, the inflator may rupture on deployment, which can send metal shrapnel through the air bag, striking vehicle occupants. This could result in serious injury or death.

Recalls on your Toyota, Lexus or Pontiac must be performed by a Toyota, Lexus or General Motors dealership, respectively. Toyota, Lexus and General Motors will notify owners of affected vehicles beginning in late July, 2016. If you do receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Toyota, Lexus or General Motors dealerships. They will also check for any other uncompleted recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with.

Southeast Toyota is recalling certain 2010 - 2013 Toyota & Scion vehicles because the vehicle weight information label is incorrect. This recall applies to Toyotas sold in Florida, Georgia, Alabama, North & South Carolina. 

Southeast Toyota will notify owners of affected vehicles beginning May 7, 2013. If you are not notified and feel you should have been, please contact your local dealer. They may ask for your vehicle identification number (VIN), so please have it handy when you call.
