I noticed last week that each time I excelerate over 20mph, I hear a rubbing sound on the driver's side front tire. What could that be?

You could have a wheel bearing issue or a Constant Velocity joint issue on the axle. Hard to say without hearing it. Your tire could also be making noise due to abnormal wear.

Make a fast right turn and the noise could change or quite down, this could be a right front wheel bearing.
