My brother had work done there, seemed ok. I had a noise and went there and was able to ask mechanics outside what problem was. The guys walked out to car and one of them instantly pointed out noise problem, belt was rubbing on plastic timing cover, and I thanked them, went home and bent it back into shape, :) ty. Maybe that guy got in trouble? I went back soon to ask about a charging problem. Guys were in a meeting, I asked gal at counter if I could ask them a question again, they helped before. The gal said I would have to pull it in and pay, I said it was just a quick question, I hear the guy on the local radio show giving advice every week. She went off on a tyrant saying I was trying top take money from the mouths or her kids, like she had just spent all morning listening to Obama hate radio all morning. I am white. I asked to talk to owner, she said she was owner. I realized she was owners daughter. So she is more concerned about getting your car in the door to bill you $50 or more and making money than helping a fellow human in having some trouble. I was kind of hunting for a good mechanic and I'm sure they are, but after the psycho babbling tirade at the counter I would never go there. Don't hate

Honest Auto Care Does Exist! I drive a 2002 Subaru Forester and had a growling noise coming from the back of the car (turned out to be a wheel-bearing problem). To make the story short, I pulled out of Rod's with the problem fixed, at a cost LESS than the estimate, and will return there for any future service/repairs or just general questions. I am no longer afraid to walk into a car repair place and ask a question (fear of huge bills!). - Rod's reminds me of how auto repair used to be. Explanations about what is wrong and estimates that include REASONABLE labor and parts prices. I will not be going back to the dealership for any service or repair work. -- Rod gave me a free oil change with my repair work and offered me $25 credit for any friends that I recommend, which I will do so gladly. Not for the money, but rather because I know I'm sending friends to a repair place they can trust. Great place to take your vehicle, and I enjoyed seeing the pictures on the wall of the local teams that Rod's sponsors

Wow Rod was very helpful in explaining how I needed to replace my timing belt on my 1999 Subaru Outback. it has over 140,000 miles on the original timing belt. He said I was luck it did not break and wat would have happened if it broke. Thanks Rod, you are my hero. My sister recommended me to you. I will tell all of my friends.

With my car being paid off, I myself would NEVER EVER bring my car to a DEALER SERVICE again after warranty expired. Lets say they offered Me a "good deal" to trade in my Paid off car for a New one and all I came in was service and my car still made noises after. So I was hesitant to bring My car to any Mechanic again. Then...

Rod's Japanese Auto Care was recommended to My New wife to fix her Subaru after a fender bender last snow storm. She liked his work and ever since. My wife has since brought her Subaru to Rod's Japanese Auto Care to tune and fix her ageing Subaru. I came with her ever time she pickup up her Subaru and was impressed with Rod's services and desk side manor.

Impressed enough to bring My 98 Honda for service. Rod himself was friendly and upfront. Showing Me the work He and his Son did with Schematics and language that didn’t intimidate Me and make Me feel like a fool for not understanding. Rod showed Me why My car was making the noise and what the part was suppose to do. Rod and his Son even fixed some of the "Dealer, forgot to does" when the Dealer was closing and finishing up my car. I felt He know his trait Well, Rod didn't try to offer any other services I didn't need, only perhaps to change my worn out brake pads in the rear, which I did for safety sake. Armed with up to date information and State-of-the-art equipment, I felt good I had a Mechanic I could trust.

After I got my car back I was impressed with the noise it made…no noise what so ever ; ) OHHH the JoY!!! That's why I am writing this report to let you know that there is a LOCAL Auto repair shop that didn't screw Me and My Wife. Rod's Japanese Auto Care made Clients out of us. Think about it, if there was something wrong with your body, would you bring it to a doctor for a fix and all the doctor did was a "quick fix" knowing you would be back for another fix, or go to a doctor that would fix it warranty it and let his services do his talking.

My wife brought her car here to have a main seal replaced as well as a couple of fuel injectors on her 89 Accord. When she picked her car up and drove down the road there was a loud slamming sound upon acceleration. She turned around and brought it back and Rod (the owner) looked at it and said oh it looks like your front motor mount is broken, we can replace that for you for $$. Well it was quite obvious that they had something to do with it since it worked fine before we brought it in, so I went in to talk to them and have them fix it but they denied any responsibility. At that point I limped the car to another auto shop and had them look at it. The other shop (Service Pro) found a couple of the main bolts laying in the cross member and determined that Rod's failed to bolt the engine and tranny back together fully; this would be the reason why the motor mount snapped. At this time Brandon (the owner of Service Pro) called Rod’s and explained to him what he found, when I got on the phone Rod was very sorry and told me to bring it back and they would fix it free of charge (duh!). This was one of the worst experiences that we have ever had with an auto shop and to even top it off Rod gave us a couple of Rod’s branded calling cards (for our troubles) that when I went to use later said the account was not valid. Long story short I would highly advise to stay away from these shysters.
