171,000 miles. Engine is still very strong, quiet, smooth and dry! Sails along elegantly on the highway, very stable, wide wheel base. Rack and pinion repairs were costly and notorious I understand. Bushings go bad and you can replace them. Don't let the mechanic talk you into the entire rack when just the bushings are bad. You can save $500 by doing so! HUGE cabin, especially back seat, very nice, but a little chintzy overall. Musty smell from a/c. Never experienced that before. Smells like an old hotel room a/c. Honeycomb wheels need to be kept up biweekly, otherwise they gump up quickly with brake dust and make the car look sickly. Overall, solid, reliable vehicle if well maintained.
I have a 1997 LHS just got it in june used. It had 88000 original miles got for 2500$. Beautiful car the ride is to die for. Did have to replace the upper and lower intake Manifold Gaskets. But that was because it set so long with out being drove. So for the money and what little i have had to do. The car has been a dream....
all I do is put money in the car basically I've replace all the front end part's

CAR WAS GIVEN TO US BY MY WIFES GRANDPARENTS WHEN THEY COULDN'T DRIVE ANYMORE. THEY PURCHASED CAR NEW. BEEN A GREAT CAR EXCEPT FOR TWO TIMES I'VE HAD TO REPLACE INTAKE MANIFOLD GASKETS WHEN THE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON. WAS A WARRANTY OR RECALL IF WITH IN WARRANTY PERIOD. CAR HAS 67,000 MILES 04/26/10.
I bought my 1997 Chrysler LHS used on 2/14/99 with 38,000 miles on it. I have not had any problems with it in the 10 years that I have had it. It now has 107,000+ miles on it and runs like it did when I first got it. I found it to be a very reliable car. I do regular maintennamce on it and couldn't ask for a better car.
