Replacing the muffler system.

I am trying to save a little money and was wondering if instead of buying a new muffler kit that if I could buy a new muffler and exhaust pipe with the clamps and it would work just fine.

yes that will work,make sure you don't leace any small leaks,that will cause other issues

Could I use that Muffler repair tape stuff around the connections in case there are any leaks?
