Replacing cabin air filter

(2005 Subaru Outback)
in Kensington, MD on October 11, 2009
How hard is it to replace the cabin air filter, and when should I do so? I'd like to save some money where I can, so I was wondering if this was something I could do by myself, or if it's better to take my car to a garage for this service.

It should not be so hard to replace is behind the glove box, you should change it every 10,000 miles if you need instructions and some diagrams go to sinautoscan.com under forum make a request

This is very doable. You need a medium size phillips screwdriver, 30 minutes for your first time and a printout of the following guide:

The guide applies to the 2007 model, but I believe your 2005 works the same way.
