Message From the Shop

Integrity First Automotive is your local BMW, Audi, Land Rover, Mercedes, Porsche, Jaguar and Volvo dealership alternative in Salt Lake City. We service all makes. Our specialty is providing premium service that creates raving fans out of our clients. For a decade, we’ve provided this service to the Salt Lake County region with satisfied clients returning from the reaches of Salt Lake City, Sandy, Draper, Midvale, and Cottonwood Heights.

Don't waste time with franchised dealerships who are contractually obligated to do what the parent company says. Instead get an advocate for your vehicle that puts your needs first.

Starting with our free comprehensive Integrity Inspection of your vehicle: from drop-off to pickup we are your advocate / not sales people. We are busy and are only interested in doing service that is win-win. No cheesy up-sales or unnecessary repairs - only things in-line with your best interests. Our clients love this approach.

it is very unlikely that the dash lights and the ABS problems are tied together. We service lots and lots of these cars and haven't seen anything like that. Not very likely the ABS issue is a fuse - the dash lights may be.

This sound like a vacuum leak in the air intake somewhere but that wouldn't be caused by filling up with fuel. Check the air filter box and the hosing going to the engine for any obvious loose hose clamps or hoses that are disconnected.

It will be hard to test this further without diagnostic equipment. You need three basic things to start your engine: good engine compression, fuel, and good ignition spark. If you're suspicious of fuel I would recommend basic fuel pressure tests next. One test you could do, if you're careful not to cause a fire, would be to remove the fuel rail with the injectors, wiring, and fuel lines attached. Then have someone crank the engine and see if you're getting good fuel spray out of the injectors. Of course be very careful because this is a potential FIRE HAZARD.

You may have a problem with coolant (antifreeze) making its way into your combustion chambers. This is commonly referred to as a 'blown head gasket'. If so you're looking at a large repair. There are several tests a good shop can perform to determine this for sure. It would be a good investment to have a competent shop find out for you.
Did I blow a head gasket? If so how much ...
This COULD be a head-gasket problem. Does the engine overheat when drive a while? If so this is likely a head-gasket issue. It could also a crank-case ventilation problem which is much less costly than a head gasket (and common on your car). I suggest having a shop diagnose the root-cause of the problem and you'll then be able to budget more for the repairs.

Good luck!

If I remember correctly there is a fan control module on that vehicle bolted to the bottom of the battery tray (under the tray). The module is approx 4 inches wide, 1 inch tall and 1 inch thick. Unplug this module and see if your battery drain goes away. These modules can get rust internally and draw power and/or they sometimes get damaged in accidents and cause these kinds of problems.

Good luck!
