Took my car in to get an estimate for brake repairs. Car was taken in almost immediately and placed on a lift for an inspection (took 20 minutes +/-), after which I was told that the estimate to replace brake pads and rotors was around $1,100, and the cost of the inspection was $50. I was never told the estimate was going to cost me anything until it had already been done. I thought the cost for the repairs was very high (more than the dealership had estimated), and I had the work done at a nearby repair shop for less than $600. Finally, after I drove away I realized that change had been removed from a cup that I use to hold quarters and other coins for parking meters, air pumps at gas stations, etc. Did not get any work done. They seemed to know their stuff, but felt the price was too high, did not like getting told after the fact that the estimate was going to cost me, and really did not like getting a few dollars taken out of my change cup.
