They diagnosed that it was my sensors that had gone bad and I had to replace the sensors. When the service was done we found out that it was not the issue. I had to get a new service. It was the catalytic converter that was the main issue there. It was misdiagnosed and I spent quite a bit.

Catalytic converter efficiency is determine by the reading it gets from the front and rear sensors. A bad reading can come form bad sensor or a bad converter. Replacing the sensors alone is quite a bit cheaper than just replacing the convertor right off the bat. In most cased when you replace the converters the o2 sensors will also need to replaced. We replaced the sensor as part of the initial diagnosis, and you never returned to say that you still had a problem. If the convertor needed to be replaced, the sensors will also need to be replaced because of the heat from a damaged convertor. I am sure you did not have to purchase new o2 sensors when you got the convertor replaced. When client comes to a shop and request we complete a task like change the oxygen sensors, because the parts shop down the street tells them that they have a bad sensor. Client's are not willing to listen to what you have to say while performing the repair which they requested. To say something different, give the client the impression that the shop is trying to put one over on them. The way we perform diagnostic is to replace the least expensive part if a part has to be replace eventually during a diagnostic of an issue. Because o2 sensors are electronic and can be affected by prolong heat, and issue with the sensor will not replicate itself during normal testing and diagnostic. I am sorry that I did not tell you that you will need a $1500 repair, other than the work we actually performed replace two o2 new o2 sensor which were original to the vehicle, and the labor to replace the sensor. It is pretty easy to second guess a repair diagnosis after the repair has been completed.

I've stopped going there because I took my Lexus there and they didn't repair it the way I would like it.

The customer came in for body damage repairs to his vehicle. He had already settled the claim with the insurance company and pocketed the funds paid to him. He did not disclose that to me when he brought the vehicle.. He came to the shop stating that his wife damage the vehicle when she ran over a large rock. The damage was quite extensive to the rear door ( need to be replaced and or skinned), front door (repaired), rocker (replaced) and the running board (repaired and or replaced) on the passenger side of the vehicle. The customer wanted an estimate before a take apart was done and expected us to honor the quote even though we could document the hidden damages which were not part of the original estimate. When the hidden damages were found and additional costs were involved he was not happy. The Lexus running boards are expensive and are comprised of many pieces. Had he disclosed that there was an insurance claim involved, everything would have be repaired as needed, and his budget constraint would not have become a problem. Carrying a 1000 dollar deductible really does not help at all.

I've had multiple things worked on my car and none of them were done correctly so I would not go back there. They had an oil change where they gave me an extra quart of oil which ruins the engine, replaced my brake lines and there was a kink in it so I had to go somewhere else to have them fix it.

When this review was completed, the client was having issues with his brakes. After performing a scan it was determined that his right front abs sensor was defective and it and the hub assembly would need to be replaced. What the client did not say that he have been coming to the shop for monthly service since Nov 2017. When we repaired his vehicle, he was loaned a vehicle at no charge for close to a week. In addition, his ignition interlock was swapped from his vehicle to our and back to his vehicle at no charge. After the brake lines were replaced, he still needs rear wheel cylinders, which he took to a shop closer to his home. I refunded him a $100 towards what he had paid to get the kink in the line. When he was checking his oil he was doing so on an incline. He brought the vehicle to us to repair, because he is mandated to have an ignition interlock in any vehicle that he is to drive. Because replacing all the brake lines in his vehicle would take several days to complete we were his only option. The shops he took his vehicle to, to perform the repairs decline the job we completed, because they did not want to work on a vehicle with an ignition interlock. We check the lines and fluid level when the diagnostic scan was performed, there was no kinks, no leaks, and the scan indicated what the real problem was. The client was not charged any more money for the inspection and scan.
