They are great because they over deliver on their products. My husband is ill and so it is hard for us to bring the car in because we only have one driver, so I drove the car in and the receptionist drove me home. It's a very personal, one on one kind of thing. When I went to pick up the car, the guy genuinely asked how my husband was doing and it seems like a very old-school community type of experience where people really know each other and care about each other and care about what the work is.

I have used this outfit for 30 years and I have been very satisfied all of that time.

I am very satisfied with Portola Valley Garage. When anyone in our family has questions about cars we can always call Tom or Tim. They are a very trusted business.

I take all my cars there. They do a great job.

Very friendly and efficient.

You can start by putting a "test light" between the "negative" battery post and the negative cable. Using the alligator clip, put it on the post and the test light on the cable. This after the cable is removed. If the test light "lights up" you have a draw. Start by removing each fuse, one at a time. Pull the fuse out and if it stays lit, put the fuse back. Keep doing that till the light goes out. Look at your owner's manual to see the fuse layout. If you have an amp meter, that would be better...

An idle valve will not keep a car from starting. It controls air, not fuel or spark. ECU is very rare to cause an intermittent no start. You need to see if your no start is from lack of spark or fuel. Do you know how to do this? Do you have a test light? I would check for power on the coil with key on and then cranking. When not cranking, both sides of the primary side of the coil should be hot. when cranking, one side should stay hot and the other should pulse or blink. If both sides stay "hot" and don't blink, I would suspect a bad Hall sensor in the distributor...see

Exactly what Pushrod said. It has to be scanned to extract codes. Is it 4WD? The front wheel bearings can make the ABS light come on when they get excessive play. Also there are problems with the 4WD selector switch on the dash.
