John could not have been any nicer or more helpful. I've never had anyone ask for the amount of information he did about my car's issues before I even brought it in to the shop - very thorough. Communication from beginning to end was outstanding. There was no pressure or attempt to up-sell. Although they were unable to reproduce one of the noises going on, they told me to bring it back if it starts up again and they'll check it without charging another diagnostic fee - nice! It's not always easy to find a shop willing/able or experienced enough to work on older vehicles, but they made me feel like they appreciated my '94 Toyota as much as I do. Thanks, guys!

This is a follow up to a review I posted last week. The van is now fixed the root cause of the problem was a gear shift module and a wire short. It required extensive diagnostic work and a lot of time but it was not the transmission. They did fully refund my money for the faulty diagnostics

Steve's got me scheduled right away for a pre-purchase inspection. The work was very thorough and well worth the money and peace of mind. Not only did they save me from buying a vehicle that had issues but they guided me in my upcoming purchase as to what to look for in the make and model I wanted. Very informative. Very thorough. Great value.

Work was fine but it took 4 weeks when promised in less than 1 - would not provide a loaner - blamed it on insurance co (Travelers) while they blamed Steve's - would recommend for service but never for body work

This was my first experience with Steve's Imports. It was basically a re-repair and needed a trusted mechanic to do it right. I think they delivered on that

The shop was great and very satisfactory. The detail cleaning up the broken glass was not completed to that same satisfaction.

Questions Answered by Steve's Imports
What Can Make Squealing Noise From The Front Of My 91 Toyota 22re 4x4 Truck on 1991 Toyota Pickup
A loose belt, a worn pulley or nearing, or an angry mother in-law.
Brake Pedal Goes To Floor on 1990 Subaru Loyale
I’ve had bad Master Cyinders right off the shelf that leak internally. You also may want to try using a pressure bleeder rather than manually doing it.
Can A Leaking Water Pump Ruin A Timing Belt? on 2002 Acura RL
It definitely will. It may not seem so at first, but it will deteriorate over time
Why Won't Air Come Thru Front Vents Only Back on 1990 Mazda MPV
Blend doors not activating. Most common cause is control head unit not responding or blend door motors stuck or not activating. Needs to have parts of dash removed for further investigation to properly quote repairs.
Can I Use Regular Gas? on 2002 Lexus ES300
Yes you can. I recommend premium an pretty much all cars though. It burns cleaner, you get better fuel mileage. I drive a Lexus LX450 and I use Premium only because I prefer the results of a cleaner driving car.
What Ro Do If Codes Are P0016 Qnd P0017? on 2006 Mercedes-Benz E350
Could be an expensive timing chain issue or just the sensor telling you the timing is off. Regardless, it needs to get in for proper diagnosis. Not just a code reader diag. Depending on what it is, there may be in depth removal of components to check the timing issue which means you need to go into this somewhat committed. I highly doubt it will be too extreme, however it is a 12 year old car and these types of issues are expected.
Car Turns Over But Wont Start. Low Presure In Fuel Rail on 1997 BMW 328i
I recommend checking fuel pressure out of the tank. Are you getting a low pressure fault or did you put a gauge on it?
A/C Unit Faulty. Just Fixed At Shop Yesterday. Not Even 15 Hours Since Out The Shop. No Air From Front. Rear Works Fine. on 2010 Mazda CX-9
It sounds like a blend door issue. This is when the motors that turn the flaps inside the dash fail or stick causing air to circulate to one area of the cabin.
2010 Prius Cabin Filter Makes Noise Like Rattling Paper on 2010 Toyota Prius
If it is a rotational scraping sound then it is likely the fan motor that has worn out and needs replacing.
