On a recent emergency repair whereby my 2004 Land Rover Discovery had a problem of dying and completely stopped running due to a crankshaft sensor malfunction wire; I had my truck towed toSunset Garage. I was met with a very quiet soft spoken young man, who took my truck in with simple care. I mentioned to him that my mechanic from British Auto in Napa who had serviced my truck since 2005, told me that the crankshaft sensor wire in the middle of the engine was faulty. I looked up the issue on the Web and discovered all of the symptoms are exactly what my truck was displaying. Normally repairs take 2-3 hours by the master Range Rover Mechanic from Napa County. It took a dropping my truck the day before, and a whole day for the repair. Lawrence was very professional, yet tacit and reticent in communicating exactly when my truck would be reading. Upon my 3rd call I was told that my truck would be ready by 3pm. By 5:15pm it was finally rested and ready. The staff were friendly and open. Somewhat informative; though I wanted to know from the mechanic why & what the cause was for the repair, a well as a description. None the less a friendly driver both dropped me home and picked me up to received my truck. As a retired senior on a fixed income, I could barely afford the repair of $334.00. As I drove the truck home it was much much quieter. I've own this truck almost 15 years and know every aspect of sound and performance form the truck. The truck seemed slower in response, but ran well. It made me happy. Reflecting on the friendly service from Jamie and Lawrence and the mechanic who drove me home, I felt satisfied with the repair for now and thought, maybe I've found a reasonable Repair Shop and don't have to drive to Napa for repairs from British Auto of Napa Valley. It has been a week since the repair and it still is not as responsive or fast as it once was, yet the truck starts and runs dependably so far for this Old Retired Man. Perhaps I truly have found a reliable, convenient Repair Shop for my Land Rover.

I am a long time customer at Sunset. I went in for a smelly oil leak. Before they fixed my leak, they removed my wheels and looked at my brakes. They called and said I needed brakes. I was a bit surprised that they pulled my wheels off before they determined my oil leak problem. I wanted to know about the leak. What if it was something bad? Then I would not want brakes... The new lady behind the counter said the car would be ready that same day. I called late in the day and they said they would not finish the work. I was kinda peeved. They NEVER get my car done in one day. I should have known. I discovered that I like taking my car to the dealer's now because I get it done in a few hours and I can plan my time.
