Remote Door Lock Sensor

(2002 Subaru Forester)
in Clover, SC on January 27, 2009
My door locks stopped working with the switch and the remote. The dealer quoted around $350.00 to replace the sensor and reprogram remotes. Is this normal? Is this something I can buy at Autozone or someplace and replace myself and also reprogram remotes? I can't stand the thought of that much money for a simple convenience part.
