Ford Recalls 1997 F150 Trucks for Seat Belt Anchorage Attachment Concerns

Recall Details

Ford has recalled certain 1997 F150 trucks for a concern with the seat belt anchorage attachments. On some vehicles, these attachments may be missing or incorrectly installed. A loose fastener can eventually detach and not properly restrain the occupant in the event of a crash. Dealers will inspect and replace seat belt anchorage attachments as necessary.

Summary
THE SEAT BELT ANCHORAGE ATTACHMENTS ARE MISSING OR MISINSTALLED ON THESE VEHICLES.
Consequence
A LOOSE FASTENER CAN EVENTUALLY DETACH AND WOULD NOT PROPERLY RESTRAIN AN OCCUPANT IN THE EVENT OF A VEHICLE ACCIDENT.
Remedy
DEALERS WILL INSPECT AND, AS NECESSARY, REPAIR THE SEAT BELT ANCHORAGE ATTACHMENTS.

OWNER NOTIFICATION BEGAN JANUARY 15, 1997.
