Ford Recalls 1994 F150/250 Trucks for Incorrect Air Bag Module Installation

Recall Details

Ford has recalled certain 1994 F150 and F250 trucks due to the installation of improper air bag modules. If equipped, the air bag warning light and air bag system will not function, causing a safety issue for occupants in a collision. Dealers will inspect the module on each affected vehicle and replace modules that are inappropriate for the vehicle.

THESE VEHICLES WERE BUILT WITH NONFUNCTIONAL AIR BAG DIAGNOSTIC MODULES INTENDED FOR CERTAIN VEHICLES OVER 8,500 BLS. GVWR.
Consequence
THE AIR BAG SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT AND THE AIR BAG WARNING LIGHT WILL NOT FUNCTION. THIS COULD RESULT IN REDUCED OCCUPANT PROTECTION IN THE EVENT OF A COLLISION THAT SHOULD ACTIVATE THE AIR BAG SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM.
Remedy
DEALERS WILL INSPECT THESE VEHICLES AND, IF NECESSARY, INSTALL THE CORRECT AIR BAG DIAGNOSTIC MODULE.
