Front Seat Belt Fails To Retrain Occupants In An Accident Due To Failed Anchor Cable

Recall Details

The front seat belt anchor cables may fail due to heat from pretensioner deployment in an accident. Dealers will apply a protective coating to the seat belt cable free of charge to resolve the concern.

Our Quick Take

The front seat belts of the vehicle have anchor cables to secure them to the vehicle. These cables may fail due to exposure from the heat of deployment of a seat belt pretensioner that activates in an accident. If the cables fail, occupants will not be properly restrained in an accident and may be injured.
