Recall 18V631000

Front Suspension Cross Member Corrodes From Road Salt Exposure

Recall Details

The front suspension cross member may corrode and weaken due to contamination by road salt. Dealers will inspect the cross member and either install a side member and drain hose and apply wax to protect the area from rust, or install a drain hose and an improved front cross member free of charge to resolve the concern.

Our Quick Take

The front suspension cross member may corrode due to exposure to road salt. This can cause weakening at the passenger side control arm mounting, which could then fracture or change the steering alignment, increasing risk of an accident.
