Driveshaft Becomes Damaged Due To Transmission Support Not Being Secure

Recall Details

The driveshaft may become damaged from a loose transmission support, resulting in a lack of power to the vehicle's rear wheels. Dealers will secure the transmission support as needed by replacing them and tightening them free of charge to resolve the concern.

Our Quick Take

The driveshaft to the rear wheels of the vehicle may become damaged because the support that secures the transmission may not be properly tightened to the vehicle body. This could cause a loss of power to the vehicle's rear wheels and increase risk of a crash.

What Should You Do?

Recall repairs on your Mercedes Benz vehicle must be performed by a Mercedes Benz dealership. Mercedes Benz will notify known owners of affected vehicles (a timetable of this notification is not available as of the time of this writing). If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Mercedes Benz dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with.
