Load Capacity Incorrect On Vehicle Certification Label

Recall Details

The maximum vehicle load capacity listed on the vehicle certification label may list a capacity higher than what the vehicle is designed for. Dealers will check the label and replace it as necessary free of charge to resolve the concern.

Our Quick Take

The vehicle certification label located on the driver's B Pillar inside the driver's door opening may state a higher maximum vehicle load capacity than the vehicle is designed for. This could result in inadvertent overloading of the vehicle, which could result in an accident.

What Should You Do?

Recall repairs on your Sprinter must be performed by a Sprinter dealership. Daimler Vehicles USA will notify known owners of affected vehicles (a timetable of this notification is not available as of the time of this writing.) If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Sprinter dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with.
