Recall 17V205000

Side Impact Structural Integrity Compromised

Recall Details

The windshield header may not be welded properly on vehicles equipped with the Panoramic Vista Roof option, compromising structural integrity in a side impact collision. Dealers will repair the windshield header free of charge to resolve the concern.

Our Quick Take

For vehicles equipped with the Panoramic Vista Roof, the ability of the vehicle to protect occupants in a side impact crash may be compromised by the lack of a properly welded body panel at the windshield area. Without this structural protection, occupants are at an increased risk of injury in a side impact accident.

What Should You Do?

Recall repairs on your Ford must be performed by a Ford dealership. Ford will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in May, 2017. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Ford dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with. The Ford recall number is 17C05.
