Recall 17V075000

Brake Fluid Leaks Increasing Stopping Distances

Recall Details

The brake system may have brake fluid leaks from some of the areas where brake lines are connected. Dealers will replace the affected brake lines free of charge to resolve the concern.

Our Quick Take

Brake fluid may leak slowly from some of the brake line connections. This can cause the brake fluid level to become low and increase the amount of distance needed to stop the vehicle. This would increase the risk of a crash.

What Should You Do?

Recall repairs on your Volkswagen must be performed by a Volkswagen dealership. Volkswagen will notify known owners of affected vehicles beginning in March, 2017. If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Volkswagen dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with. The Volkswagen recall number is 47N3.
