Recall 16V700000

Vehicle Equipped With Improper Inside And Outside Mirror Combinations

Recall Details

The vehicles were built with an improper mirror combination of no inside rear view mirror and a right hand convex mirror. Vehicles require both side mirrors being flat if no inside mirror is provided. Dealers will install a right hand flat rear view mirror free of charge to resolve the concern.

Our Quick Take

The vehicle was manufactured without a proper combination of inside and outside mirrors. Vehicles are required to have an inside rear view mirror or both left and right hand side flat exterior review mirrors. Some may have been equipped without an inside mirror and with a right side convex mirror. This could impede rear visibility and result in a crash.

What Should You Do?

Recall repairs on your Chevrolet or GMC truck must be performed by a General Motors dealership. General Motors will notify known owners of affected vehicles (a timetable of this notification is not available as of the time of this writing). If you do not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local General Motors dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with. The General Motors recall number is 16036.
