Rear Bench Seat Belts Not Fastened Properly

Recall Details

The rear bench seat belt mounting bolts may not be securely fastened, resulting in the seat belts not effectively securing occupants in an accident. Dealers will inspect the connecting bolts and tighten them as necessary free of charge to resolve the concern.

Our Quick Take

The seat belts for the rear bench seat may not be fastened to the body securely. This could cause the belt to fail in an accident, increasing risk of occupant injury.

What Should You Do?

Recall repairs on your Sprinter van must be performed by a Sprinter dealership. Mercedes Benz notified known owners of affected vehicles beginning in October, 2016. If you did not receive a notification, but wish to check to see if your vehicle is included, please contact one of your local Sprinter dealerships. They will also check for any other incomplete recalls on your vehicle. For best results, be prepared to provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) to the service department consultant you speak with.
