Certain 2013 C-Max Hybrid vehicles do not meet federal safety standards for occupant head protection.
Ford will notify owners of affected models beginning August 19, 2013. If don't receive notification and you feel you should have, please contact your dealer for further instruction. They may ask for your vehicle identification number (VIN), so please have it handy when you call. The Ford recall number is 13C02.
Vehicles sold in the US must meet government safety standards for occupant protection in the event of a crash. Testing indicated these recalled vehicles do not meet federal safety standards for occupant head protection, increasing the risk of injury in the event of a crash. Dealers will install energy absorbing material between the headliner and the roof as necessary to correct this concern.
