2013 Dodge Dart vehicles are being recalled because the parking brake may fail.


Chrysler will begin notifying owners of affected vehicles during April 2013. If have a problem with your parking brake, or you don't receive notification and you believe you should have, please contact your local dealer. They may ask for your vehicle identification number (VIN), so please have it handy when you call. The Chrysler recall number is N21.


A total of 46 2013 Dodge Dart vehicles are being recalled because they may have been assembled with the incorrect rear brake calipers. As a result, the parking brake may not function correctly and the vehicle could roll unexpectedly, increasing the risk of a crash. Dealers will replace the affected brake calipers to correct this concern.

Summary: Chrysler Group LLC (Chrysler) is recalling certain model year 2013 Dodge Dart vehicles manufactured on November 27, 2012.Some vehicles may have been built with incorrect rear brake calipers, which could result in an inoperable parking brake.

Consequence: If the parking brake is inoperable, the vehicle could roll when parked increasing the risk of a crash.

Remedy: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the affected brake calipers, free of charge. The recall is expected to begin during April 2013. Owners may contact Chrysler at 1-800-247-9753. Chrysler's recall campaign number is N21.
