On certain vehicles it may be possible to remove the key with the vehicle still running and/or the transmission not in Park. This may allow the vehicle to roll away possibly resulting in an accident.
GM will notify customers of affected vehicles beginning January 23, 2013. If you experience these symptoms or believe this recall applies to your vehicle, please contact your local Chevrolet dealership. It is helpful to have your (VIN) Vehicle Identification Number ready when doing so.
Under regular conditions you should not be able to remove your key from the ignition cylinder while your car is on and/or your transmission is not in the Park position. This may occur due to a manufacturing defect in your vehicle's ignition lock cylinder. Removing the key while the vehicle is still running and/or in Park may allow your vehicle to roll away causing an accident. To correct this condition GM will replace the ignition lock cylinder and 2 provide 2 new keys. The GM recall # is 12332.
