Brake Line May Be Too Close to the Steering Shaft Joint

Recall Details

A brake line may be too close to the steering shaft, which may allow the brake line to contact the shaft and eventually suffer damage and corrosion. A loss of brake fluid would illuminate the warning light as well as increase stopping distance, which could lead to a crash. Dealers will inspect the distance between the brake line and steering shaft joint, and increase the distance if needed. The recall began June 23, 2003.
