rear sway bars

My rear sway bars broke, mechanic said it would be okay to drive without them. Is this okay.

It's not a big deal, the back of the car may lean a little more as your turning, you may not even notice it. However, if you have to swerve to avoid an accident, then your vehicle will not handle as well as it should and this could be an issue.
