Q: radio just blinks on 1996 Toyota Avalon

the radio does not work but just blinks irregularly. fuse seems ok. also how would you get the radio cover off

Factory radios can be diagnosed by a professional, the unit will need to be removed and the wiring checked to be sure the power and grounds are ok. If they are, the unit is defective and must be replaced. Radios cannot be "fixed" they are a remove and replace item. An aftermarket stereo will usually give you the most bang for your buck in terms of replacement; stock replacement radios can be extremely expensive and usually use older, lower performance technology. Just be sure to use a professional, reputable installer.
