Radio and Clock goes off

(1998 Lincoln Navigator)
in Monticello, IN on May 25, 2011
Radio and Clock may work but then go off after a few minutes. I have checked the fuses and they are ok. It doesn't act like a ground issue as it happens sitting still. Could it be a relay faulting?

There is a relay that allows the radio to stay on after the ignition is off, then when the door is opened, triggers it to turn off.

It is possible that for some reason this relay is faulty, but I wouldn't imagine it to even be a factor until the ignition is off.

I'm thinking there is an internal radio issue.

Thanks. The clock is seperate from radio unit and if I leave radio off the clock goes off after a while. It may come back on after truck has been sitting off for a while or it may be the next day....electrical stuff frustrating to me!
