It is normal for the fan to run for a few minutes depending on variours conditions, ie: engine temp, Ambient temp, etc. The fan relays or Powertrain Control Module (PCM) may be defective., but usually in this case, the fan will run until the battery goes dead. If the fan shuts off after a few minutes, I would not be too concerned about it. The is a label on the radiator support that states that the fan may come on at any time. The Radiator fan operation is control by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) with inputs from the temperature of the coolant, which is sensed by the coolant temperature sensor, and vehicle speed which is measured by the vehicle speed sensor. The PCM turns on the fan through either the high or low speed fan relay. The PCM provides a ground to the relay's control circuit. The fan relays are located in the Power Distribution Center (PDC)
