Hello! For about the past month, I have had a strange noise that occasionally emits from my car. It can be heard both in the cabin as well as from outside the car. It is best described as sounding like a plane taking off. It lasts for about 5-6 seconds, then “winds down” and repeats this cycle every few seconds. It should also be noted that air begins to be sucked rapidly into the grill on the front of the car while the noise is happening. I originally thought this was an engine fan turning on as I was having engine overheating issues, but this was discovered to be a problem with the cooling system that was repaired (new coolant overflow tank), and the noise has continued after the repair. However, yesterday I discovered that the noise only happens while the heater is on. I have a video of the noise from inside the cabin, but the website is not letting me post a link.
reduced power pops up on screen with a high idle and check engine and battery is not holding a charge
I had a engine light come on at 70K, and then it went out. No issues. Then at 73K, my car started idling rough, the light came on, then went out, then it came on again with an additional service engine light. I had noticed the car jerking in 1st gear 2-3 x randomly. The car has lost power, etc. Got multiple errors from BMW diagnostic, 1.) mass air flow sensor failure 2.) coils? and 3.) valvetronic system with multiple cylinders misfiring. I am wondering if the mass air flow sensor and coils could be causing the valvetronic failure and that by replacing the first two will solve the last, making this repair much more affordable.
MECHENIC SANDED THE CONTACT POINTS ON THE HOUSING AND SAID IT MAY HOLD FOR A WHILE. iT DID 87 DAYS. DEALER CLAIMS NO PROBLEM.
the error message read: engine oil level measurement not possible until ignition on
Engine show me red line from the motor tire or break line
no smell, no smoke, no overheating. car has a sealed oil system so can't check for water. but oil level is right at full like always. 75000 miles. hit 100mph coppla times, never wound out the gears,
