Are they expensive to repair

I love the style and way European cars drive but modern European cars need tools and proprietary software that is expensive for a general repair shop to own with a result that you need to find a Volvo dealer or a shop that specializes in Vovlo repairs. Make sure there is a repair shop in your are knowledgeable in the repair and maintainence of that car. Have a pre-purchase inspection done by that shop and see how competent that shop is. I am a fan of Lexus Acura or Toyota they tend to require specialized tools and are extremely reliable.

Excellent advice from Patrick. I tell you honestly: stay away from early Volvo S80s - especially turbos, unless you have LOTS of money on your savings account. They are one of the worst car that was ever built by Ford. Zee
