What is your question?
Driver door airbag went off on my volks wagon Passat in a small accident that was enough to set it off. Now my car won’t start. If I take the airbag module out will it start after that?
What makes this problem better or worse?
I jump started the car and it turned on a couple of times. Recently it hasn’t but it only cranks.
How long has your 2018 Volkswagen Passat had this problem?

Hi, this is Bo, an auto expert on RepairPal's Car Genius team! After an airbag deploys in your 2018 Volkswagen Passat, the car’s system likely put it into a "safe" or "limp" mode, which can prevent it from starting. Removing the airbag module probably won’t fix the problem—in fact, it could create more issues. You'll likely need to reset the airbag system and check for any stored trouble codes that are preventing the engine from starting. A mechanic with a proper scan tool can clear the airbag fault and make sure everything else is functioning properly.
