What is your question?
I have a 2000 Daytona 500 Grand Prix Supercharged. I am constantly having to put Anti Freeze in reservoir. I travel to work and have smelled the AF after stopping the engine. Help!

is the carpet wet in the floor board, either side>front? do you have a leak underneath the car somewhere?
Water pump leaks when it starts going out. Also the are water elbows on both sides of the engine. One could be leaking.
surely they have it fixed by now, been over 4 months! be nice if they would reply back with the problem/fix,maybe to help others with the same problem...
I want to thank all of you for your assistance. I do not get on the forum often as you can see. Earlier in the year, I was told the water pump did not look like it was leaking. I will have it checked again as well as those water elbows you have mentioned. Again, thanks for your help. I appreciate you.
Well, your're welcome, but i was on the wrong side of the tracks to start with! i was insisting the A/C condensation drain was maybe clogged, and you kept saying AF was leaking.check what mdl399 said in their reply.most pumps do have weep holes in them where the coolant will leak out when going bad. AND, one last thing before i go back to watching Alec Baldwin pissing someone off again,oh it's the President ELECT,sorry? ok,now, how do you NOT run your A/C in FL? i'm in Charlotte NC and we had like 90 days straight of over 90-100 degrees and i ran the A/C in my F150 every day and night and still run it now in the daytime, and it's in the low 70's?! A/C spoiled me and i'm only over 50 and under 100 years young, you dig!
I didn't run AC at all. It was definitely a challenge. I would turn on AC but only got hot air. I had a mechanic friend check it, put Freon, and all that good jazz, but to no avail. Now I live in the Blue Ridge Mountains with no heat. I wish I could sell the car to someone who can put her back to her glory days. After nearly $10,000 of my money, I can't put anymore into her. All my research shows that she is the only Silver 2000 Daytona Grand Prix Pace Car Edition left in the US. The other one was sold for parts. I had to put in a new transmission last year at the cost of $4000 because of the 3800 Supercharged engine. All travels from IN to FL to North GA has been on a car transport hauler. I have researched that she could be sold for $7000+ but want only the cost of the transmission placement. If you know anyone, have them contact me. Thanks for the assist.
ok,will do..good luck with it...
Thanks Stevie Ray
Antifreeze in front of the passenger tire could be radiator leak ( been there fixed that) Now mine is leaking on the drivers side front of the radiator and it's running on my ground effects and coming out under my drivers side fog light. Just a thought.
Yes, I find the smell and water run off on the passenger side of the car. My nephew changed the radiator hoses and clamps but worth looking into the radiator as well. A diagnosis stated that the some O2 (?) sensors and EVAC (?) needed attention.
Neither.....I see the water on the ground after I stop the car....looks like on the passenger side of the vehicle....I usually go through a gallon of AF a week
you sure the head gasket is not blown? the water you see is probably A/C Condensation dripping on the passenger side(clear water) it's suppose to do that.
I do not run the AC....AF reservoir empties about every 4-5 days then I have to put AF and water in it. Radiator has water in it. I had someone check to make sure. Someone else told me that since I smell AF after stopping the engine, a valve (?) Is not letting the AF get back to the reservoir so it drains out.
pull the reservoir out,it may have a crack in the bottom of it..gotta start looking for where it's leaking..put a piece of cardboard under it when you park it for the day/night!
