Hello, For overhead cam engines, they are mounted on one end of the cylinder head, but can be placed underneath the valve cover gasket. On the 2.4l, there are two that are placed on the top of the engine, one slightly below the valve cover, one on it. They are at the end of the engine closest to the transmission.
