why will my car start but will not turn over when gas petal is pushed?

2013 Hyundai Sonata Hybrid. Check charging system warning came on and had to pull over immediately. had diagnosis performed on battery and read no reading from alternator. Replaced alternator. Currently, call will start and complete power up process however car will not turn over and activate engine after gas petal is pushed. All inside car features work...ex radio, air, internal lights... Electronic Power Steering, Oil, Battery, and Service lights all present on dashboard. No noises no leaks
