What is your question?
He obviously doesn't have a crystal ball and may not be able to tell me which components will fail and when, but just what can he look for that may cause me to decide not to buy the car?

he should know if he is a good tech with out you asking. there is a long list of items that need to be checked. go to another shop familiar with these checks. they do these for about 60-75. good money spent to make sure you are not getting a lemon. Roy
The car has a timing chain not belt so that would not have required maintainence. As the owner for all previous service records, you want to see frequent engine oil changes and transmission oil chances depending on mileage. Scan for trouble codes to see no Evap codes stored, generally a great truck.
Thank you, Patrick. That's more like what I was looking for. I tried to get the service records from the dealer where the car was bought and served. They told me I would have to have the current owner come in and make the request. I wonder if they'll give the records to me if I do buy the car. Thanks again.
Thanks, he is a good mechanic. And I'm sure he knows what to check. What I was looking for here was simply for my own information.
