My mechanic told me to look for a 2000 clockspring for him to fix it, since they are not produced anymore. I found a 2005 clockspring, could that work as a replacement? Or does it have to be a 2000 Taurus clockspring? Thank you very much!

It may not need to be from a 2000 but I'd call your local Ford dealer and ask. That's what I do with stuff like this. Get the right info so you don't waste time and money. The VIN number from both cars would help. Alex
These vehicles utilize two different clocksprings; sorry to say that they are not in any way interchangable. If the one from a 2000 model year is not available, it's the part number that is not available, not just the model year application. When the part number changes, you cannot simply replace with a different part number, as the components are different.
