I put synthetic oil in my brand new Mustang, and used synthetic oil for the last 3 oil changes. I found out I'm not supposed to in the GT. Can I switch back to regular oil or a blend without harming the engine?

Hi, Yes, switching between synthetic and conventional oil does not cause problems. Because the oil are compatible , you can switch back and forth as often as you like. thanks john
how would one just find out that synthetic oil is not to be used in that car? did you see that in the owners manual recently, and how was it determined to use full synthetic to start with? it ain't gonna hurt it. if anything,it will help it.you have the 5.0L in your car.Ford switched back from the 4.6L to the 5.0L around 2011.both are very good engines. i have a 2000 f150 with the 4.6L in it...my owners manual says>under Capacities and Specifications to use Motorcraft SAE 5W-XX Super Premium Motor Oil with WSS-MXXXXX-X and API Certification Mark, which would be a blend oil! my truck to my knowledge has NEVER had a blend in it. it has always had FULL SYNTHETIC oil in it.i really think you will be ok.if it were going to hurt an engine,i think i would already know!>>this week,"sometime",i will have 313,000 miles on it!
Let's just say regular oil is fine and synthetic is better. Whoever told you different was wrong. Plus they mix just fine!
ok now,no oil fights tonight.everyone runs what the prefer and i have run a lot of different brands and see no difference that i can tell.i did see a little difference in one brand,BUT it is expensive to run it unless you can get it at cost(AMSOIL)which i did, and ran it for a few years.you really come out pretty good on the price if you only change it once a year, which i did that also.i don't run it now,but i still run full synthetic i've seen all the oil test and more than i wanted to see.the main thing is changing it.although i knew one guy who would only add oil when needed and change the filter every once in a while!how that truck lasted,i don't know.he bought it new in the 80's and was still driving it till 5 years ago and sold it(FORD)! and,i know they mix just fine also.i've really been testing this 4.6 engine.it holds 6.5 qts.,so i've been adding 3 qts. oil,1 qt. marvel mystery oil,1 qt. lucas oil stabillzer, and 1.5 qts of FOX PEE. engine's running ok,but a lot of deer chase my truck!
