2004 mercury monterey 4.2l v6. Only clicks when i try to start it. I replaced the starter but it still just clicks.
How long has your 2000 Ford F-150 had this problem?

which vehicle? 2000 F150 or 2004 Monterey? clicking coming from where? under hood? starter? is the battery dead/discharged? any testing done before replacing the starter? did you try and jump start it before placing the starter?
Should've used that short piece of wire that came with the starter - that's probably all it needed anyway. Testing is always a good idea before replacing any parts.
Auto repair savvy person can jumper firewall solenoid to test steparter.
I do not know what “steparter†is either.
