1996 Chevrolet S10 What would cause my truck to start then die,It seems like it delays when I push
4.3 l v6, oh yea it has been sitting for a little over a year. But before that it ran good, not as good as when i first purchased it, seems like it lost power, due to it sitting as well I'm thinking....
What I do in these situations is perform a full scan test then do a fuel pressure test .. Normally that leads me to the problem(s)... However I've been doing it for YEARS! .. You should consider having those test done as sell .. In 'most' cases, that is the least expensive route to a 'successful' repair! .. There are quite a few possibilities but it doesn't really help to just post them without actual testing to confirm .. You may have a car savvy buddy that can help you out and is familiar with the test I described .. After testing I'll be glad to help, if that's needed! .. Good luck with it!
Well i did a full scan of my engine and it turns out two hoses weren't sealed.. so now it starts but won't go into any gear.. it's an automatic, it feels like it's catching gears, nothing flippin happens when I push the gas... was told tranny is shit, it's been sitting for a year so how can the tranny go if I didn't even drive it?
Check transmission fluid .. These test apply only 'IF' it is a 4x4 (?) .. Try it in 4 WD, just for the hell of it! .. Does it make any noise when shifting back into park? .. Can truck be pushed or will it still roll with shifter in PARK? .. This is the reason we need the > Make (Chevrolet) .. Year built (1996) .. Model (S-10) .. Body type (4x4 Pick-up OR Blazer) PLUS the Engine size and transmission type .. You see, we rarely get enough information!
Put a quart of tran fluid in, let it run about 5 mins, it reversed pathetically... put it in drive rpms went up to 5 before it eventually made it about 30 ft.. I put it back in reverse and it wouldn't budge... so basically it'll half ass go when it wants
