Pump,door locks and trunk fuel door

I took my 2005 cl600 to mercedes dealer because a pump went bad that controls the door locks and trunk and fuel door and automatic door close it cost me a lot of money to fix it. what cause this pump to go bad etc.

I hate to say it, but that part lasted 6 years and it's kind of the normal service life.
Technicians at a MB dealership are replacing failed parts way before the warranty expires. Recently I have seen one with a failed ignition lock module before it needed the very first oil change.
Don't forget, these parts are made by the lowest bidders somewhere in the world - just like anything else now days.
