Can I change the power steering pump on my 1995 Chevrolet Monte Carlo by myself if I'm not a mechanic?

Probably better off paying a shop to replace this as the labor time is 1 hour to 1 1/3 hours depending on which engine you have plus the cost of the pump and fluid and you can get a estimate here and find a shop here as more people get themselves in trouble trying to save a few bucks

it appears to be leaking from the boot on the racket pinion. how can i make sure it the seals or racket pinion need replacing
