Bob was fantastic from start to finish. I live in Australia, my son is at University in Oklahoma. Bob kept me informed at all times as to what was needed to repair my son's car. They were the 3rd mechanic that we had taken the car to, and they were able to repair the problem.

They were over-priced. It was like $300 in labor and it was only a $100 charge. It was $100 to put it in and take it off everytime. The part took two weeks to get there. I was very mad. They are just ridiculously over-priced for labor.

Most certainly a blower motor resistor. There is a good chance you'll have to replace the blower motor as well. At the very least you need to measure the amperage draw of the motor circuit while its running. If it is too high you need to replace it or remove it and see if there is something stuck in the cage causing it to bind up.

If its just a blend door actuator, and depending on which one it is, you would be looking at a few hundred dollars parts and labor at the most. If it is a broken blend door then the dashboard could possible have to come out and it can easily get over 1000.00. That being said, its not out of the question that there may be a different issue causing this.

There is a fairly common issue with the DAS (drive authority system) that most often means the car has to go to the dealership. We have had some success replacing and coding modules, but too often it requires the dealership only programming software. That being said you might try another key if you have one and also see if the buttons on the key remote work. If you have any other questions feel free to give us a call.
On most Subarus, The brake and VDC light can come on due to an engine control module fault. Do you have any other symptoms? Poor running? Long crank time? Etc. Probably not a very serious issue but it should be checked out. There could be an issue with the anti-lock brake system or the stability control system as well but these are far less common.
My car was running fine the whole day. But...
There are potentially several reasons an engine won't start. It will most likely have to be towed to a repair shop for proper diagnostics to get that problem handled. The brake pedal being hard to press probably is just due to the vacuum reservoir being empty. It requires engine vacuum to make the brakes work and will most likely correct itself as soon as the engine is running again.
