P0443 code

(1999 Jeep Cherokee)

i am not sure how to go about fixing this code(evap purge sonenoid open/short) any suggustions...and i just replaced the solenoid itself so its not that

Just had a similar problem ... check engine light was on/off ... tracked it to be off when the gas tank was full and on when the tank was at or below 1/2 tank ... one code returned by the dealer was for the evap purge ... the final issue was a partially rotted evap line from the tank to the canister ... replace and all fixed ...

Sounds like there is a problem with the evaporative system, and possibly the purge valve. To be sure, it will need to be diagnosed by a technician. I suggest taking it to a shop that performs smog test and repairs, they will be fully equipped to diagnose and fix this problem.

I had the same problem with my car. I went to the dealer and purchase a new gas cap. A leaky or missing fuel filler cap could be the solution. Good luck.

just do a fuel clean and check if the gas cap is defect and change it
