Overheated replaced radiator hose won't start now what do I check coil timing??

Blew a hole in radiator hose. Thermostat was stuck n failed. Replaced hose removed thermostat. Car will not start now. It started after hose replaced, shut it down to go in store. When came back it wouldn't start. Starter spins but almost seems like there is no spark? what steps should I go through to fix? What else could have happened? Coil pack? Timing belt/chain, head gasket? What steps on my own can I go through to check for each possibility so I can rule out each possible problem to get my cat started?
