On a 2005 5.3 what causes of water in oil water does not flow through intake

(1999 Chevrolet Silverado 1500)

get a little water in oil loses about a quart between oil changes,and water does not flow through intake so how could this cause it?

Fix you city and state, and water does go through the intake, why is the thermostat in the intake if water isn't there.
