Oil pressure

(2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee)

when I first start up my oil pressure indicator pegs out on high and only moves slighty after warn up

Oil pressure sensor may be bad. You would have to put a manual oil pressure gauge on it and see what the actual pressure is. Since you say it does move a bit then im going to assume its still plugged in. I belive that sensor is located next to the oil filter on the passenger side of the engine
